Speaking as a recruiter, if you dont have a contact at a hiring company and you are intested in either a big 5 position or at a firm, (especially a start up) It is best to find which firms they use to headhunt. My firm alone is handling hiring for a major firm in the Fairfax Va, area. Many firms especially the larger ones (AT Kearney, DHR) have numerous positions that might be a very effective tool. They are out to fill the position not to deal a person down. I would suggest contacting the office of a firm your interested in, located in the city you desire. Even retained firms wont turn away an interested and qualified candidates who respond to ads, or send unsolicited resumes. feel free to check out jobs sites on www.execunet.com, or www.netshare.com or even the job posting here at the vault. I would be willing to look at them too. peter.dhrdc@att.net |

Nothing too much exhilirating here in terms of information but Andersen Consulting is REALLY trying hard to move into e-business. This is definitley a GOOD move for AC. To address the person's question as to which branch of the firm to apply to for an e-position. I'd say that most of the BIG 5 is probably trying to jump on the band wagon of E-commerce training. At AC they are now teaching all new college kids the importance of net-centric business models, JAVA, and HTML. Just to let you know...
