Used to work for a boss who used my hearing impairment as an excuse for his ineptitude. When I became upset over project specs that were incomplete or just plain wrong, he told me that I had "misunderstood" the request. I was floored the first time that he said it especially since most of his communications were via email or phone. My hearing aids work fine with the telephone; I have trouble in groups or noisy places. I wish I had been more assertive in responding to his crap or at least documented his comments for HR.
Thank God I don't work for that sneaky SOB anymore.
