I found out today that I got a job in a new city (Thanks Monster.com!), and will be giving my 2 weeks notice on the 16th (once the job offer letter is in my hands, of course). My last day will be Dec. 30th, and I start my new job on January 6th.
My question is this: Before I got the new job, I was planning on taking most of the last 2 weeks of December off to visit my family for Christmas, who is 3.5 hours away. Now I'm not sure if I should take any time off during my last 2 weeks of employment at this company.
Any suggestions? Christmas is on a Wednesday, and I wanted at least the 24th & 26th off to travel to & from home. Also, one of my grandparents has cancer, and I was planning on spending time with him while I was home, before it's too late.
