Message: I have some very strange circumstances and need some help on what to do. I was "transferred" by my ailing biotech company to a mentee of my CEO's at a local hospital. My CEO, during the discussion in which it was just the 2 of us, said that she would pay me until December after which I would become a hospital employee. I asked if my income would drop because I needed to anticipate any decrease in income. She didn't really answer the question except to say that the hospital would pay me starting in December but she "would be willing to supplement my income." This transfer took effect in September but now that it is paytime have I now just figured it out. My pay has been switched to the hospital rate, which is $10,000 less than what I was making at the company. This was not clearly indicated to me in our last interview. What legal routes can I take to get what the CEO verbally told me? All I want is the money they said they paid to me. This is by far not the first unethical thing they've done and I"m also considering contacting the IRS and NIH regarding falsification of information. What do people think?
