It's not a haven for stress and early death, it's a haven for hard work. This is why we have a 10 trillion dollar economy while europe's 1 trillion dollar economies lag behind. If you do't want to be stressed, go to europe, they have 35 hour work weeks. Being number one doesn't come without some hardship. |

Having grown up in the Netherlands and lived in the US for the past ten years, I can see both sides. My friends back home definitely lead a more relaxed lifestyle and less of a rat race. Overhere I work long hours but I also make good money, have a lot of freedom and live in a free-standing house (you'd have to be a millionaire in Holland for that). You have a choice. No one forces you to work long hours and make a lot of money, but you have the opportunity to do so if you want to. It's a free country.
