Message: In our day and age, it is tough. Many of my friends and myself have chosen to either be married without children or not be married at all. At work, they question you if you are married but do not have kids. If you are not married, they always question that. Well, I'm married but not planning on children. That is my business and I think it's illegal for the boss to ask that question. Also, I do not want to juggle all of that. The stress of the job is bad enough because of the bad work environment I find myself in. I hear this story from many others, too. Sad but true. Shouldn't parents be allowed to cut down their work hours to spend time with family and raise their kids at least for a few years??? This should not cause economic hardship and should not be viewed as laziness. I don't call full-time working parents lazy. They are working 2 full-time jobs and rarely get enough sleep. But in our modern, corporate society we do not value the family. We value the following things: money, knowledge, power, being right, having more than the next person, putting women in their so-called proper place.
