Your feelings have roots in historical realities. Corporate America is like some private government, mostly unrestrained by countervailing powers of unions, government and civil society. You feel like a slave because workplace democracy is rare at work. Managerialism flourishes like some social cancer- the frustration you feel is a product of this acendancy of managerial privledge. You are only means to their ends of ease and profits...Yet in the founding of this nation corporations were creatures created by the state, held accountable to the people. Not so today. As you experienced. |

And this happens a lot in large corporations. What can we do? Check out the www.bullybusters.org site. A lot of good information there. Also, write letters to your congressmen. But be professional and remember that more than one voice will be heard. Let's do something to turn this country around. Real hard work is not rewarded in this country. We have become slaves here. And internal and external customers have lost their manners!
