I got an offer from my internship. The full-time position was supposed to have started when I returned from a trip.
When I got back I found out that the company lost three big clients and that they could only afford to pay me hourly.
After three weeks of getting paid hourly, I found out that they couldn't even afford that.
Now that I've been officially "laid off" they still want me to intern there. They're offering their assistance and contacts to help me get a new job. But I feel burned. Should I save face and exit gracefully, trying still to milk them for contacts? Or should I just stomach it and go back to my internship, knowing that I'm doing the same work (now for free) but gaining more experience while I look again for a job??
