Topic Name: Motivating Yourself
Message Name: Because It's a Job Requirement

In Reply To: I never understood how work all of a sudden was supposed to be this spiritually fullfilling experience. I work for one reason. To collect a paycheck. I motivate myself to do my job well because that's what I'm paid to do. I do what my boss tells me to do not because he/she is a great leader or a visionary but because he/she signs my paychecks. I don't expect work to give me hapiness or fill any void in my life other than the void in my wallet.
Message: I don't know about your industry, but in my industry, if you don't give the impression that your job is your main motivation to keep breathing, it means you aren't a team player, you aren't a hard worker, etc. This goes double for single people without kids.
