In Reply To: When interviewing, applying, how can you tell if a company's culture is a good match to your personality and values? And, to what degree is this important?
Message: The most important thing you can do in searching for the right fit is to really think about the things that are most important to you and ask yourself whether those things can remain present in your life in the context of working for a particular company. If the answer is no, the culture isn't right for you. Think about your skills, interests and work style against the tasks of the job, the structure in which you'll be working and the corporate culture. You might first have to get to know yourself better before you can make a decision, but once you do, you'll take with you a valuable tool for the rest of your career. Good luck and remember that a good fit today may be a poor fit down the road. It's important that you continue to revisit the "fit" equation throughout your life time. Enjoy!
