When interviewing, applying, how can you tell if a company's culture is a good match to your personality and values? And, to what degree is this important? |

I was in a company for many years, and was both successful and happy there. Then we were taken over by a much more ruthless outfit, who cared much less about their employees and more about their bottom line. When they had their first losing quarter in over 10 years, 4000 of us hit the streets, including myself and several other managers who apparently were too concerned about our employee's wellbeing to insist on 80-hour weeks. Make sure you know what you're getting into.
