Recently my orgainzation switched from a well established payroll company (ADP) to a lesser known one. The first pay period we received checks drawn on an out of state bank, but were given these checks well in advance so that the would "clear" by the pay period end date. We were informed by e-mail that although the next pay period we will be "live" with direct deposit our bonus payments will be in check form and will in all likelihood take several days if not 2-weeks to clear. This is wholly unacceptable. Personally, I think that the new HR services company is taking us for a ride. Any suggestions what my (our) legal rights and recourse could be?
BTW - the first pay period checks had glaring tax and 401(k) errors that don't inspire confidence in these "newbies"
