In Reply To: There's your life; There's your job; Why should companies accomodate employees' private lives? I do not get it. It's a job, you go there, you work, you get paid. IF and only IF it make sense a company should accomodate the employee, however it should start from the employee. I completely disagree with the phylosophy that the employee should present his/her problem and expect the company to accomodate. The employee should evaluate the situation, and make a proposal to the company that will not create a burden to the company, maybe even proposing a lateral movem for a reduced schedule, at a reduced salary. What's good for the company is good for the employees!
Message: You live the mental illness so many managers live: everything for the company (I'm sure you couldn't care less about the fact that one of my friends got cancer and the company would not let her take any time off to rest even for a few days when she had vacation time left). Work, work, work. This country's management and micromanagement of people is like living in Communism. Why don't you people move to Russia so that we can be free again?????
