How do I get one? |

My previous employer had a strange review policy: he would not tell you anything until you [or one of your team] commited a mistake [and then he would remind everyone, in crude language and loud volume so all in the company could hear, of your mistakes from the day you were hired], or brought up the topic of a raise or bonus [same reaction]. During my years there, not once I had a real review done, and never got any other type of feedback save for the mentioned.
If I ever get another ***** like that for a boss, is thera any way that I could persuade him/her to give me a formal review, or at least to discuss my performance like grown-ups?
