In Reply To: I will be starting work at a Big 5 in Northeast. Can anyone give me any tips on surviving a Big 5?
Message: Position in Big 5 can be a good start for your career in Finance. (My experience is based on working overseas) But don't plan to stay there for long: The compensation is ridiculous. The atmosphere will depend much on the partners in your Dept., but anyway they don't care much about consultants. So expect that key people won't know you and it's likely that your Senior will blame you for most mistakes made on the project. Asshole-seniors in my Dept used to do that. Try to get as much of difference experience as u can X-loss projects, consulting, etc. And think about new prospective employer. If I live in northeast I would go to IB.
