Next time assignments are handed out, simply state what your current work load is and suggest that the offer this assignment to your co-worker. If you are missing any deadlines, or are racking up a lot of hours, point this out to your boss, and ask that some of your assignments are redistributed. Also, try sending weekly status updates of what you are working on to your manager, just as an FYI. No need to state that she is not pulling her weight, just focus on you and your position. If you focus on her you will come across as a complainer, which is deadly for your career. |

Those comments are good, and pretty much what I was doing anyway. Unfortunately, it's all irrelevent now as this girl was 'made redundant' last week. Shame she had to go, but we are masters of our own destiny, and she made her choices.
