How do most companies feel about body piercings? I have a nose ring that I'd prefer to leave in once I get a job. Should I wait until after I land a job, then ask if it's acceptable? Anyone else sporting their piercings in the office? |

It truly depends on the job as defined by the employer. Is it an inside only job? I don't care what programmers or artists look like since all that anyone other than me will ever see of them is thier work. If the position keeps you behind doors never to be seen by clients and they care about nose rings then you pobably don't want to work there. The real hard part is when the position involves client contact. Don't think the ring has to go simply because the clients might see it. The true answer is to know what the company wants you to project to its clients. Generally banking means dump the ring but if they are trying to get movie clients or game development companies as clients, the ring is a positive asset. Do your homework before the interview and you will know where the company is going.
