I have worked in a variety of jobs, for a variety of people, in a variety of places over the past 20 years. None of that experience has prepared me for my recent encounters with office politics/relationships. I am on a new job with respectable pay in a region of the country where jobs are very scarce. HOWEVER, I have never been treated so poorly in any position I have ever held. In comes from those below me, above me, and beside me. Any suggestions as to how to reconcile some sanity in this cesspool of gossip; this chronic negativety; this rude and disrespectful business; and, by the way, you'll never guess the industry I am in. Education! I have never been made to feel so bad about myself and don't want to continue in this unhealthy way. I am at a loss as to how to react to THEM.
