I would ask your employer, very professionally what type of dress code that would be appropriate. I would inquire about piercings -- ask about it professionally. |

It is interesting to see what companies are accepting of things like nose rings. I recently moved and found myself looking for a career change when I decded to go back to school to further my education. I worked on the east coast for an agency where I had to meet with high level attorneys. I wore a nose ring (small stud) and it wasn't an issue. I wore a suit, carried a briefcase, and went to lunch meetings with partners of large firms. When I left that job to go back to school I thought I would get a job at a retail store because of the convenient hours. I went through several interviews with Abercrombie & Fitch (which targets young customers and employees). I was scheduled to meet the district manager for a management position and when I arrived I was told that he was on the phone and would meet with me in a couple minutes. An hour and a half later of waiting I was told that we would have to reschedule. I called the manager that had recruited me and she informed me that he had refused to meet with me because I had a nose ring.
