find a rent stabilized apartment in New York is like recommeding that they win a million dollars.
In all the time I've lived in NY I've never happened upon an available rent stabilized apartment, it doesn't happen. I did end up sharing an apartment with a woman through roommate finders and she was in a rent stabilized. We fought with management for the whole year I was there as they were trying to kick us out to up the rent ($1800 3BR on Upper West side, same apt next door to us was re-rented at $4800...)
Hoboken these days is practically as expensive as Manhattan. I'd recommend sharing if you can stand a roommate or Brooklyn/Queens/NJ if you can deal with not being in the center of the action |

you r mistaken... all u got to do is look and you will find your rent stablized apartment... I live in Manhattan (Upper east side resnt stablized) but i recommend brooklyn... cheaper and more chill... the reason i am still in Manhattan is only because i found a steal... other than that, I'd be out!
