I am the team assistant in a small venture capital firm. Everyone except me went to Harvard Business School. I am terribly concious of this. They lunch together and I am always on my own and excluded from conversations, plans and activities. I would like to get more involved but I don't know how. No one ever seems to be interested in what I have to say and so I act in an aloof manner, as if I don't care. That does not help. I need advice. |

I have had some experience working with some Harvard MBA's as well as some professors who went to Harvard for their PhD's. I personally did not go to a top MBA school but I still have an MBA. The way I get that type of politics broken among Harvardites is to, in jest, make fun of the stereotypical Harvard MBA grad. You know, they can talk a mean game, but they cannot actually make it work. They love to give their two-cents worth on everything and I usually respond by saying a one-liner like: "And that and a quarter gets us what.........?" Ha, Ha. Stay your ground and bust on them directly about their background because they may become conscious of their actions.
