In Reply To: Thanks. It doesn't take much to recognize an idiot like this guy. I have a hard time backing up stupidity, so I guess I'll have to work on that. I do have to guard my attitude more and more, though, because I've noticed that I'm starting to be short when talking with him. Oh well, you know what, I could care less because I know that if I'm not here tomorrow I could probably find a job in no-time flat. Forget the dot.com downturn - I believe that employees who know their technology and are good communicators will always be in high demand. I do worry that this experience is revealing that I'm not a team-player. Please tell me that teams are made up of people who pull equal weight. I would actually enjoy walking away and seeing this company suffer... well, except for those stock options... heh heh In 10 years, will I be like him? I hope not. One thing is that he's gotten this far by BS'ing and hiring consultants to do everything! Now that our company's cash-strapped, all development has had to come in-house. Rather than call his hired lackies to shout at them, he now has to figure it out himself. I won't be like him. I've committed to being a life-long learner.
Message: you said:"... those stock options..." Is it really worth it? Think about it: you are seriously underpaid since you are such a valuable asset, and you are underappreciated and ultimately underpaid. MOREOVER you are just "parking" your career over there, you will be better off somewhere else, get more money, options, and ... move on! You will have THAT experience under your belt that you can use in the future when you will be dealing with: - dumb clients - dumb partners etc.... Good luck
