Asking for flex-time |

I am returning to a career in the investment banking field after a 2.5 year hiatus to start a family. I'll be hired on at the relationship manager level, while having some analytical responsibilities. I'll serve on a smaller-sized team (4-6 people)with primary analytical support from another person.
Ideally, I'd like to work 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with flex time to work from home at night and on Fridays - to be home with my chid for a few good hours each night and to prepare dinner for my family. I ran a business from home during my hiatus, so my commitment level to work from home is not an issue. The industry really hasn't seen many flex-time situtations. . .How do I approach asking for flex-time? I am interviewing and I want to be very clear about my intentions to work hard, but I need flex-time.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Be the devil's advocate if you are called to - I'd like to hear both sides.
