In Reply To: I am an employee with a large consulting firm (BAH), recently I was arrested at checkpoint for a dui, I have not yet been convicted but the chances in these cases are slim. I was wondering how worried I should be of getting terminated. This was really a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time after having 3 drinks over the course of a meal. Do I have any hope of maintaining employment if I do in fact get convicted? Any advice would be great and because Ive never been so scared in my life.
Message: I am not sure about BAH's policy, that I think it is not uncommon for employees of any company to get a DUI. I would contact someone in HR without mentioning your name. Also, I would contact a good lawyer ASAP! I know several friends who plea bargained a better deal from a DUI.
