Our department re-organized after a new CIO arrived. I was moved out of a telephony job that I liked, am going to school for, and was good at, to a job that I don't like. Part of me views this change as a demotion, even though I retain the same job grade and pay rate. Have almost five years with the company, but really not sure if this is what I want to do. Management indicates that our existing telephony infrastructure will move to IP within the next two years. Not sure if I want to stay. If I move on; however.. I would have to go back to being an Admin person (i.e., Exec Asst, etc.), because that is the bulk of my experience. Has anyone else ever gone through this? Any suggestions or ideas? Please let me know. Thanks!
