Message: New York Life: George Gordon and his illegal activities George Gordon is the Managing Partner at the Greater New York Office of New York Life Insurance Company. This is the number one office in the country, but number one comes at a price. George Gordon is not only a bully boss, but he does very illegal things. 1. He pays for cases out with money out of his own pocket, so that he can reach the office's case rate goal, so that he can get a big bonus. You may ask, why does he do this? He pays for very small cases, but his bonus is so big, that in the end, a few dollars here and there doesn't matter. 2. He refuses Partners who have rightfully earned a company paid vacation the right to attend that vacation. 3. He makes all the Partners sign a committment letter that states they will not go to the home office for any reason without his expressed approval first. Which means you can't complain to the home office about not getting the company paid vacation, because if you do, he'll find out because he has a lot of friends there, and he'll fire you. He may not fire you specifically for that reason, but he'll find a way. Because he has so many stupid rules in his office, if you break one, he'll call it insubordination. 4. He collects tons of money every year from all the Partners, Agents, and Sales Trainers. a. He collects $125 per Agent (and spouse) for the kickoff. With over 500 agents, including P-Tas agents who re requires to pay as well, that's over $62,500. Then he collects another $10 per Agent for the Holiday Party, and more money here and there for this and that. b. He collects anywhere between $8,000 - $12,000 per year from each Partner. $6,000 for the Kickoff, $1,500 for the Holiday Partner, $1,200 for the office fund, and other expenses here and there. With 13 Partners, this adds up to over $130,000 per year. c. He collects anywhere between $5,000 - $10,000 from the Sales Trainers. With 6 Trainers, that's upwards of $60,000 per year. d. He provides no accounting statement to anyone for any of these events. Therefore misappropriation of funds is very easy for him. e. The 2005 Kickoff was held at Cipriani's in January. A few months later in May, George's son had his wedding there. It's conceivable to think that Cipriani's gave him a discount on his son's wedding, that really all the Partners and Trainers should have gotten instead. I.e. he's mixing business with his personal life, saying to Cipriani's, "If I have both my Kickoff and wedding here, you'll cut me a discount on the wedding, right?" He's been with New York Life for over 30 years. Gordon has grown very, very powerful. The home office, SEC, Insurance Commission, and IRS have all been notified, but they all continue to do nothing about this man. If someone knows any contacts at a news organization like 20/20 or 60 Minutes, please tell them about this man and have them investigate. Publicity would force New York Life to do something about this man.
