I had a position that I loved. It offered value to the company and it was in line with my career goals - in fact, I am going to school to gain more knowledge to move ahead in this line of work. My job? Telecommunications Coordinator. I audited our MCI invoices, administered our corporate cell phone program, phone system administration, some dialer administration, etc. It was a job in which I was learning new things and making a contribution. This position was eliminated and while I'm fortunate that I was kept on at my workplace, they've moved me to a file transfer position - which is OK... but I feel as though the rug has been pulled out from underneath me. I feel as though they are telling me that my previous position offered no value (even though I know better). Has anyone else had this or something similar happen? How did you handle it? Thanks!
