Is it "not professional" to edit onto others' spreadsheet directly?
My counterpart at another firm replied a mass email telling me that "editorializing" on his spreadsheet is not professional after I replied sent out his file to another party, highlighting some rows & inserting comments to help the other party understand the issue we were discussing.
Since when is it not professional to insert comments/highlight some rows in the spreadsheet? Am I missing something? |

how else would you communicate your thoughts.
the only thing i would add - make sure you rename the file in an appropriate way so that people can keep track of the discussion
