Despite your (probably reasonable) sense that the promotion was unreasonable and undeserved, this "promotee" might help YOU get promoted in the future, if he/she likes you. And how the hell is the person going to like you if you don't congratulate him/her? |

As a VP myself there us no where else to go, so the promotion in the future is an extremely moot point.
I want to leave as I am having philospohical issues regarding the direction the organization is taking.
But at 49 its not easy.
I'm hoping 2005 is my year.
