In my company, we have the same thing... one director bought his degree from the internet.. he mangles the english language, and is incompetent at his job.. do what I am going to do, and search for a place where the idiots don't rule. The bigger the company, the less chance that unqualified, or low education people get promoted to these senior level jobs. |

I think in my experience, the exact opposite is true. In bigger companies, there are more ways to deflect attention from your own poor performance and also the higher ups have less intimate knowledge of your work. I've been through a few biggish companies and it seems people move up by hanging around and winning a battle of attrition.
