In Reply To: In my organization someone got promoted to a high level, VP and they don't even have a college degree (one is in process though). Also the VP titles are handed out here in such a manner that those of us who are VPs feel that the title has no efficacy any more. Its because our general manager said once he doesn't feel that advanced education (i.e., an MBA) is necessry in financial services. DUH. Its just an ongoing pattern of being out of touch with the times. Now the question: If I feel that the promotion is not warranted or deserved should I still congratulate the promotee or stay silent? Any comments are welcome.
Message: In my company, we have the same thing... one director bought his degree from the internet.. he mangles the english language, and is incompetent at his job.. do what I am going to do, and search for a place where the idiots don't rule. The bigger the company, the less chance that unqualified, or low education people get promoted to these senior level jobs.
