The company I work for will have its Holiday party rather late this year; December 17. One of the things about this party is that spouses are NOT invited. Yet the head of the company invites clients, vendors, legal counsel, our recuiters, etc and they can bring spouses. I do not want to go this year (this is my seventh year with the company)as I see the party less as a "thank you" to the staff and more of a hubris for a manager who has some real inferiority issues. Iam always told it looks bad if I do not go (and some have warned that it could impact on my bonus) but I would just love to say no "thank you."
