In Reply To: I have a new coworker who likes to come up to me in the morning before I've even had my coffee and TALK and TALK and TALK. She also has one of the loudest speaking voices I've ever heard. I can usually keep the conversation short, but sometimes she speaks to the woman at the next desk, and literally I can barely concentrate because she just babbles at top volume for 15 minutes. What can I do?
Message: Usually those type of people want others to hear their conversations because of their own personality problems. Just ignore it and don't gasp or laugh when you overhear certain comments and it'll go away. But, overhear as much as you can while continuing your work. Most of it is gossip, but I had the benefit of working next to a high level manager in an open-area office. I'd overhear something, then like a week later suggest that to my own manager and people thought I was a genius.
