I've been asked to travel to another city for a week-long company event. The travel itself is no problem - however, I found out that I will be expected to share a hotel room with a co-worker. I'd rather have a room to myself, and would even be willing to pay for it. But if I'm the only person who does that, will I appear to be rude, or unsociable, or whatever? Has anyone else been in this situation, and if so, how did you handle it? Thanks in advance for your input... |

My company used to make employees share rooms for an annual convention. It was a bit awkward. We did have some people who spent their money to have their own room. They were not looked upon as rude. The rest of us probably would have done the same thing if we could have afforded it at the time.
