New Job and I Already Hate It |

I lost my job in January 2004. Since I anticipated a layoff, I interviewed for a job in February 2003, and then accepted the position in March 2003.
The job required clearance, so it took almost a year, so I was laid off and formally accepted the job.
My husband and I moved back to where we wanted to live, but I took a $15K paycut. (Believe me, I interviewed for other positions, but was not extended any offers.)
Well, a month into the job, and I hate it. When I write that down, I feel immature, if ungrateful because I lost my job and should be happy I even have one.
My current job not only represents a tremendous loss of pay; I also feel that, professionally, it is several steps down.
Is it it unethical to even try to apply for a new job? The sticky part is that I would have to pay back my relocation expenses. |

Dear Word Diva:
Think of it this way: Would this very company think twice about firing you? I bet, sure as I'm standing here that they would do this in a blink of an eye if their interests were at stake. There is no such thing as loyalty today!! Before you even think about quiting, line up another job first. Place yourself first and run with it!!! Good luck!!
