In Reply To: Hello, This year I received a good rating on my annual performance review. This is only my second year at my company (and my first job out of college). So I don't know if it's appropriate to provide comments for a good rating on the "Annual Performance Review" document. I was thinking that an email to my supervisor and director might be more appropiate. Or should I write some notes of appreciation since someone in Human Resources (or even the President of my company) can see this . I certainly know that my supervisor and director were appreciative of my work, however, they did explain that it was difficult to convince the "Annual Performance Review Committee" to give me a good rating. These people are not in my group, so they do not really get a chance to see what I do from day to day. I think this is more about office politics. In any case, can anyone let me know what I should write. I want to show appreciation and gratitude, but I'm not really good with words. If anyone can offer some good advice, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
Message: This is what I wrote in one of my performance reviews: "I am very pleased that the management of my department and the organization hold my work and myself in such regard that it is evidenced in the good ratings I have received. I am also please that we have discussed the possibilities for promotion and career development. As you know work reflects the environment one is in, and in this case I have a good working environment that allows me the ability to do my work without significant direction, letting me make decisions and own the results whether good or bad. This is true job enrichment. I thank my direct supervisor for his/her kind remarks and I will endeavor maintain the good quality of work that has been noted and appreciated." - Yazbro
