Message: To date, I am unemployed, but I will comment on my previous jobs. No, I have never felt like my work mattered. I work because I need the money, so I accept whatever comes along until I can find something that ignites my inner being. I know this sounds dismal, but, I have never had any passion for the various jobs I've held. I'm trying to complete my college degree, but this is not the answer; it may get my foot in the door, but does not address my desire for passion in what I do. My main priority right now is securing a full-time job anywhere until I can once again think through what other options I have. It really irks me to hear employers ask me where I see myself in 5 years, and why do I want the job? How ridiculous is this? Do they have there respective heads in the sand or what? I need money to survive and pay my bills, not to mention food. Many people say that it is important to answer these questions because it is a sign of my commitment. Do they want me to sign my name in blood? Maybe this way of thinking would have worked in the 1940's, but not today. Companies are not loyal to their employees, so why should employees be loyal to them and vow that they will stay at their companies forever? Nothing is forever. We need to keep the economy moving by employing as many people as possible, instead of worrying about loyalty. Forget it! It is not possible anymore because companies and management are too dishonest and corrupt to even expect the minimal humane treatment.
