My biggest time trap is two or three people who come over to my cube and talk my ear off while I'm trying to work. Sometimes they come by for a work-related reason, but they always need to start up a conversation. I try to tell them I'm busy, but I really don't know how to do it effectively and politely. any advice? |

I worked at a firm in Washington, DC where one woman hung a sign on her cube, simply stating "Do Not Disturb, Please." She also donned ear plugs. Some thought it was a little extreme, but she got her work done. I don't think it's a bad idea, actually.
