I have been working a Wachovia for over a year now and I have noticed something quite odd. When going into the branches, the vast majority of FS are male. I rarely see women in these roles unless they have been with the bank for SEVERAL years. This should cause concern because the FS position is the "ground floor" opportunity in the bank where you honestly get the most visibility as far as being able to move in other jobs. What I did notice was that there were more women as Financial Center Managers and I can tell you that this position has all the headaches and none of the advancement potential as the FS position has AND they are paid they EXACT same. In the intereview for the positon, they give you an "assessment" of 200 questions, mostly true or false. Mostly behavorial questions. They fax this assessment up to a so called third party grader who states whether you are a successful or unsuccessful candidate for the role. This is a fishy assestment and I would urge ladies, if you can bypass the FS role its a set to groom the men. This is just my opinion of what I've seen so far.... |

I have not noticed that trend. In my area, there is a healthy mix.
