In Reply To: I have a PhD (ChemE)/MBA. My MBA is from Univ. of Chicago in Finance with many advanced finance classes to my credit. However I have no finance related work experience. It's all been in manufacturing and consulting thus far (about 10 years). What is the way one can get to work for a VC firm? Is it even realistic to expect to elicit interest from a VC firm if I apply? Response from someone in th efield or someone who did this will be apppreciated. Thanks.
Message: My guess: you will have attention if you apply. I send off five applications and have had five interviews - but no offer so far wich hopefully changes in the future. TOne of the reasons: I do not even have an MBA, but have worked for Big5 Consulting. My finance background is near to nil... Good luck!
