I have the opportunity to join a $100M VC as a controller/analyst. I have a CPA and have two years with a big 5 firm in the audit and tax field. This VC's first priority is on the controller side, but have said I will get the opprotunity to be involved with the investment side.
I am wondering if this opportunity is on that will generate the skills that are marketable. Will working for a VC allow me to jump somewhere else if I wanted to leave the VC field? I also am not sure if I have the networking contacts needed to become a successful VC, as I will be travelling to different state to join this VC, and my industry contacts are very limited. Eseentially it will be learn on the job for me. IT sounds exciting, but am I jumping in too early?
Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
