Hi guys, look forward to some advice: I'm currently into IT: experiences have been with pre-sales consulting (ebiz, CRM solutions etc.), and software project mgmt. I have also had some exposure in selling cutting edge technology to clients (hot off the labs). I'm yet to get an MBA (planning on one soon). I'm an engineer by education, and have no finance background. Post-MBA, I am keen to work in the tech commercialization space. I'm considering a post MBA experience in a 'high tech' firm - to get a more solid base in tech commercialization - and then my long-term goal being the VC space. Do you think this is a reasonable career path? I'm curious, since I have no finance background whatsoever. Do VCs exist with similar profiles, or are they all the wall street types? What might be the pitfalls, and what might be some of the advantages that I bring to the table? Also, I'm looking for a 'VC 101' to get a feel of the broad spectrum of this industry. Any pointers? (preferably, web based information sources pls) Your help shall be much appreciated.
