In Reply To: I've had some great folks come to us from this board, and as such, I'll throw out another opportunity or two: Interns: LA or DC, can work the IB or VC side in a boutique environment. Actual hands on WORK, not scut work. We're small, private, and not snobby at all. If you take away anything from this opportunity, it will be real experience. IB/VC Entry Level -- new grads welcome; working one on one with a partner, actual client contact and management, ability after training to be thrown to the wolves to handle your own clients :) Boutique environment, DC or LA location. If you're angling towards securities, this would be a great start. Hint: Resumes are great indicators of what you've done. Tell us what you CAN do over what you HAVE done. School and grades are somewhat important, but brains, good sense, and ability get more points here. Compensation is decent, but if you're looking for the fluffy perk and poof, keep sending your resume to NY and not to us.
Message: I am interested in working with you firm as a summer analyst. Is there any other way I can contact you or have you contact me? I have both excellent academic and professional skills. I have experience performing all different types of valuation models, performing financial analysis, evaluating betas and risk factors, & I have a solid understanding of the deal flow process. All of which has been put to use in real life experiences and advanced pre-graduate workshops and honors courses. I have also taken my education one step further with educating my self on different valuation models used by VC's, working and speaking with current VC associates and exploring the different approaches taken by a VC firm in analyzing a new venture. (Good Managment, Unique Products, High Profits, & a Exit Plan) Professionally, I have over 4 years of experience in many facets of management (finance, project, & sales), entrepreneurial strategies, co-founding business development and financing, working in the investment business as an analyst. Lastly, I am presently working as a "silent" partner with a start-up company in Wireless in SF and I'm advising my parterns formulating our business plan, financial plan & projections, market research, & obtaining financing, and once the company starts to obtain revenues I will be in charge of strategic development. I love working on new ventures and exploring the unbeaten path. This is why I am so interested in working with a Private Equity group like your firm. I would appreciate speaking with you about your firm, and finding out what type of opportunities there are. You may contact me at TDSMichael@aol.com Mike
