good job on being able to get into a vc firm without the slightest inkling on valuation or more specifically, IRR (which by the way are very easily manipulated) - you should be in sales! i would suggest buying "Analysis for Financial Management (5th ed." by Robert Higgins - it is a great read for finance, valuations, etc.
Oh, and by the way, I am a VC.
