VC Recruiter,
I'm a Grad. student (pursuing an MA in fin. econ.) at a top 10 B-school located in the Midwest, and would like some input on the potential of securing a summer internship in VC/PE. I've been pursuing some opportunities in IBanking, but would really like to focus on VC/PE.
For your reference, prior to grad school I was a VP at a small, boutique investment bank that specializes in M&A advisory services for middle-market companies. As a result of my focus in grad school and my work experience I've got a pretty strong quant background (PhD level classes in quant. fin.) and I've worked on a lot of deals.
Would my quant. background and work experience be attractive to a VC/PE shop? Are you aware of any shops that are currently looking for summer interns?
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
