Yah its a much better life style, with comparably money or possibly better money if you're with the right firm. You probably do need an MBA from a top school, but banking is the right way to go to transition to PE or VC. Most VC and PE guys come from banking. Very tough though to get into a good firm. |

Look at the sites of any top VC firm. Most of 'em list their partners credentials. The majority of them do not have pure banking backgrounds, if any banking experience at all. Maybe my empirical data is limited, but I believe this notion that banking is a big feeder into VC is a myth. PE, on the other hand, may be a different story.
