In Reply To: I am currently an investment banker at a bulge bracket firm, finding the work interesting and the people great, but the lifestyle a little too demanding on time for my like. I am interested in breaking into VC and I'm wondering if the lifestyle is better than that of a banker? Also, is an MBA a necessity or just a preference? Thanks for any insight you can provide.
Message: Yah its a much better life style, with comparably money or possibly better money if you're with the right firm. You probably do need an MBA from a top school, but banking is the right way to go to transition to PE or VC. Most VC and PE guys come from banking. Very tough though to get into a good firm.
