Might this be a good experience? |

While I currently work in Business Development for a Fortune 100 healthcare company, my long term interest is to get into VC.
I am currently interviewing with a start-up business development and strategy firm who has many VCs as clients. For these clients, it sounds like the type of work the firm does is similar to that of an incubator, providing business development services to portfolio companies. The management at the firm is smart, experienced, and extremely well connected.
The firm has expressed an interest in eventually branching into the VC/LBO area directly. However, if this does not happen, might this opportunity still be a good chance for me to network and then enter the VC field? Or should I try to enter VC now, as I have both a technical MS and an MBA, and two years of equity research experience in addition to sales and business development in a corporate setting?
