You're an inspiration, you know. I'm 42 and trying to do something like you're doing...get into a certain field without a related degree or direct experience but with the right attitude and applicable work skills.
I'm a girl but I have balls, brains, and a can-do attitude. Sounds like you do, too. Good luck!

Thanks for the compliments.
After working for the VC for about 6 weeks(only Fridays) during the Spring Semester I got enough information to end up declining the opportunity to do a summer internship with them. Why?
Well, let me explain. During my iinitial interview with the founder/managing partner he asked me what I considered to be my ideal job?
I was honest and told him "an entrepreneur". And, I told him what kind of "entrepreneur" in particular - a "social entrepreneur".
And, guess what? I'm now researching a social entrepreneurial idea I have. I have a network of informal advisors(about 8) whom I'm in close touch via email and telephone. I plan on talking with some leaders to get their views and opinions. So far, I've recieved a lot of positive responses and good feedback.
I realized recently that life is too damn short to not look for or create the kind of job that you're passionate about. The kind of work that gets you up every morning with enthusiasm. I don't want to look back 10-20 years from now and say to myself, "Why didn't you pursue your dream?"
So, pursue your dream dammit and don't settle for anything less!
Much success to you and everyone else on this board!!!
