I have spent 8ys advising hedge funds investing in global derivatives markets, and two years in business development at a start-up. I am looking to combine my interest in finance with that of learning about and growing businesses. I am therefore interested in opportinities at LBO and VC shops. Where do you all think things are headed? Poor capital markets and portfolio company performance will keep new VC employment opportunities to a minimum? Is there a sector that I should look at in particular? Will undervalued companies spur LBO activity? Any advice concerning where trends are creating job opportunies would be great. Also, where are the best sources of information on industry trends? Thanks in advance for your help.
